The Ballina Jockey Club is located only two kilometres away from the town centre and holds 17 race meetings per year including the Ballina Cup run in Mid September each year attracting large fields and crowds. Other major feature days include the Byron Bay Cup, Boxing Day Races and the Iris Nielsen/Coolmore Ladies Invitation only Race Day in which attracts some of the best Lady Jockeys from around Australia.

The Ballina Jockey Club is a major regional training centre with up to 185 horses using the training facilities on a regular basis. These horses are either housed in the Club's own stables or in privately owned stables within the racecourse precinct.

The Ballina Jockey Club boasts modern facilities to suit all tastes. The Club is set amongst attractive gardens ideal for garden weddings and other outdoor events.
